single-chain protein, it can polymerize into F-actin to form a foundational element of the cytoskeleton. As a member of the actin family, it plays essential roles in processes such as cell shape maintenance, motility, division, and intracellular
transport. Beta-actin undergoes several key post-translational modifications that regulate its function and interactions with other proteins. Beta-actin is commonly used as a loading control in Western blotting, RT-PCR, and immunofluorescence.
